🌺 A Destination Wedding at Dreams Jade: Our All-Inclusive Getaway in Mexico
Two years ago, my husband and I packed our bags and headed to Dreams Jade Resort in Mexico for something extra special — his best friend’s destination wedding! He had the honor of officiating, and I had my camera just in case… because let’s be real, if there’s a beach, palm trees, and love in the air, you know I’m snapping some photos 😍
This wasn’t just a quick trip — it was a full-blown all-inclusive adventure filled with laughter, sunburns, and unforgettable memories. And spoiler alert: I now fully understand why couples are ditching traditional weddings and saying “I do” beachside
Our Favorite Moments
- Sunset beach walks that looked straight out of a movie (minus one tiny encounter with an abandoned building and a suspicious growling dog… yeah, we ran).
- A giant chessboard with pieces taller than toddlers — and no, I didn’t win.
- A beachside rehearsal dinner where we laughed and ate while the sky turned cotton candy pink.
- Water aerobics Zumba — which, yes, I totally participated in (and no, there’s no footage, unfortunately I was too in the moment to get some).
- Karaoke night in the heart of the resort — imagine a group of strangers singing their hearts out under the stars. My only participation was being a spectator
- Scuba diving excursion where we swam above a reef, held a starfish, and even spotted a small shark!(Less glamorous: I accidentally inhaled saltwater and immediately puked into the sea. Cute, right?)
Food & Favorites
- Spice (Asian cuisine) was one of our favorite spots to eat!
- Carnival International Café had the best variety — perfect for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- We also tried a Mediterranean restaurant, but I’ll be honest… not my fave (give me tacos any day).
🦎 Unexpected Guests
Let’s just say iguanas run the show at Dreams Jade. They were sunbathing around the property like they owned the place — and honestly, they kinda did.
💡 Travel Tips for Your All-Inclusive Trip:
- DO NOT forget your sunscreen — I’m begging you. Resort prices hit different ($45 for the same thing you can get at Walgreens for $12).
- Check the dress code — Some restaurants are fancy, others are laid back. Pack accordingly.
- Plan excursions ahead of time — Snorkeling was amazing, but we missed out on other activities because we didn’t plan early enough.
- You don’t need to convert your money — Everyone happily accepted U.S. dollars.
Regrets? We Had a Few…
- We totally missed the rooftop sports area with basketball and tennis courts. Didn’t even know it was there!
- I didn’t make time for the spa, and yes, I’m still salty about it.
- Not knowing the full wedding itinerary meant we didn’t get to schedule more off-resort adventures — we kind of winged it all week.
📸 Destination Wedding Dreams? I’m So In.
Even though I was mostly there as a guest (and wife of the officiant), I couldn’t resist capturing a few moments while we were there — because come on, that backdrop was begging to be photographed.
